Summer Solstice 21st June Celtic Tradition

It’s nearly that time of year again when celebrations will be happening all over Ireland on the eve of 21st June to celebrate the summer solstice and half way point of the year. The point where the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and the days begin getting shorter.

Gatherings and bonfires will be happening at all the sacred sites of Ireland and is a time of celebration all over the country. Popular sites for celebrations include Grange Stone circle ( sunrise ceremony ) and the Hill of Tara (sunset ceremony) and also many local areas across the country.
